Frequently Asked Questions

We have listed below some of the most frequently asked questions - along with answers.

If you have a question that is not answered here, or you want to talk to us about a home repair project you are thinking of, feel free to contact us to discuss the details.

How long have you been in business?
We have been providing home improvement services for over 20 years. We began in 1987.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are fully licensed and insured. Our NJ Home Improvement Contractor license number is 13VHO1473500. We carry Workmans Compensation and General Liability insurance up to $5,000,000.

What payment options are available?
We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash payments. We also provide financing for large jobs.

Do you use an answering service?
No. We have a fully staffed office. All calls and online requests directed to us are answered by one of our friendly customer service representatives. Email requests are usually answered within 24 hours, unless the request has been sent during a holiday or a weekend.

Is there a foreman/supervisor present at the jobsite?
Yes. All of our specialized crews are lead by an experienced professional who oversees the work.

Do you subcontract work?
No. All of our work is done by our experienced professionals. We provide a wide variety of home improvement services which are broken up into different categories. Each category has a specialized team specifically trained to handle that type of work and is O.S.H.A. trained and certified. A leadman heads each team and oversees work done at the jobsite.

How long will it take you to start?
Typically, after the deposit, it takes about a week or two of leadtime for us to start on your project. Once you make the initial deposit, your project is added to our list and assigned to a suitable crew for the type of work you're requesting. Equal priority is given to all projects, whether big or small.

Do I have to get permits for repairs or do you take care of that?
We acquire all of the necessary permits before we start any work. In some cases, such as small repairs, permits are not needed.

What kind of materials do you use?
We use only top of the line materials for all of our jobs. We purchase our products from reputable local building materials suppliers such as Allied Building Products, Kuiken Brothers, and Bergen Brick Stone & Tile.

How long does it take to replace a roof?
It depends on the size, pitch, design, and if a tearoff is required. Most residential roofs can be installed in two days.

What is power washing?
Power washing, or pressure washing, is the application of high pressure water spray to a surface such as wood, stone, brick, concrete, aluminum siding, roofing shingles and others. The pressurised water removes unsightly mold, mildew, and dirt stains bringing back that original new look.

How do I know if I need a new roof?
Visually inspect the condition of your roof. Look for shingles that are cracked, curled, stained, faded or missing. Also, consider the age of your roof. If it's nearing the end of its expected life (about 20 years), it may be time for a new installation.

How often should I have my gutters cleaned?
At least twice a year. If you have many trees by your house you should clean them 3 to 4 times a year to prevent major damage to your roof, walls, siding, and foundation. Clogged gutters allow rainwater to accumulate and weigh down and eventually pull gutters loose from their mountings.
